Thanks for watching my newbie restoration project. This was a draw knife I picked up at an antique dealer in Worcester, Massachusetts for $10US. It wasn't in too terrible shape, and I thought it would be a good first project for a tool restoration. It has a slight curve to the blade. I also haven't seen that many draw knife videos so hopefully you have found this helpful and I can help you avoid making the same mistakes I did.
Areas I know I need improvement:
- Overall metal work with the grinder and sanding.
- Sharpening blades
I feel like I made a good decision to fix the cut off material in the handles (by shortening the handles and caps slightly) but I'm sure I could have heated the metal and pounded it out to make it longer? Would be interested in feedback.
And constructive criticism is welcome.
Thanks,
Rocco's Dad
