My first introduction to oven bannock was from my mom who used to make it on cold gloomy days to cheer us up. The hot oven would warm the kitchen making it feel cozy while the smell of baked bannock filled the house. This recipe is super easy and quick to make. Very little kneaded is involved and quick breads don't need to rest or rise. Oven Bannock is a soft flaky bread that is crispy on the outside and perfect with stews, soups or with jam and butter.
