Leaders of a Dale City project are keeping the future in mind.

Supervisor Victor Angry recently visited the future site of the National Museum of Americans in Wartime (NMAW).

The 70 acre property will feature an education center and several “landscapes of war” exhibits.

Angry met with the NMAW Founder Allan Cors and On Site Manager Rufus Brown.

Steady progress is being made at the site, where officials are working on infrastructure.

Addressing stormwater runoff is one task they’re focusing on.

“There’s an old ravine that comes down through here — it’s an old dry creek bed, basically — but when we get rain, we got water from Dale Boulevard, I-95 and Asheville Plaza,” Brown said.

Project leaders are designing the wartime museum property so that it’s able to handle the rainwater now and additional runoff it may face as Dale City continues to grow.

A 60-inch stormwater pipe is also being installed.
