On the night of May 15-16, there will be a total lunar eclipse visible from South America, much of North America, Western Europe, and Western Africa.
A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the entire Moon passes into Earth’s umbra, or darker shadow. During a partial lunar eclipse, the Moon will get dimmer and may take on a brown, red, or orange tint. If one were to stand on the moon and look at the sun, the Earth would be blocking it, but around the Earth they would see all of the sunsets at the same time, being projected on to them. This is why the Moon turns red instead of black during a total lunar eclipse. Lunar eclipses are visible for half of the world- the side of the world that is in night time and that is facing the Moon.
Please subscribe to my channel as I am uploading an eclipse video every 2 weeks, and I usually upload something else in between those weeks! I go through eclipses chronologically.
