Karen Tapia is a 2020 Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District (PYLUSD) Classified Employee of the Year! Karen serves as the Secretary at George Key School. This video recaps the day PYLUSD executive leadership members and her colleagues surprised her with the news.

"Karen has created a warm, welcoming environment for our school community, and goes beyond for students, staff, and families daily," Principal Kelli McFedries shared. "She relentlessly pursues opportunities for our students and is always thinking of ways to enhance the programs at George Key and Venture Academy. Some of these include our career speaker series, a morning affirmation and positive thinking program called ‘morning cheer’, and leading the way towards developing a school wide culture of kindness. She is so deserving of the award of ‘classified employee of the year."
