Politics and posturing takes center stage at the Delhi darbar of the Congress, seems to be dithering in naming it’s chief ministerial choice. Sources reveal that Siddaramaiah was all but named the CM but his contender DK Shivakumar dug in his heels. It’s been days of hectic parleys with Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi on the phone and Mallikarjun Kharge holding repeated meetings. Leaders like Randeep Singh Surjewala, KC Venugopal going in and out but it’s believed that DK Shivakumar has refused all comprise formulas to share power with Siddaramaiah. He did not accept the post of deputy chief minister. Neither did he accept the 50-50 formula nor did he accept the three deputy chief minister’s formula. It’s all or nothing. We are joined by a few panelists expressing their views on this issue. “The followers of the leaders cannot be controlled. Followers often create pressure on the leaders,” stated Congress' Syam Prasad Meka.
