This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Have you ever considered where fairy tales come from and what their real meanings are? In this talk, John uses a well known children's fairy tale to explain the process of how boys become men.
John Varieur is an in-home therapist for Arbour-Fuller Hospital in Attleboro, Massachusetts. He is also a member of Lead Now, a locally based leadership company. A jack of all trades, John has been a high school teacher, a roofer, a bartender, and a banker.
Between bartending and psychology, John has heard more fairy tales then all of us combined.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
