Folks, our next several videos involve tragedies of unimaginable scale and horror. Our short video format in this ‘Thinning Veil’ series circumvents the heart-melting details required to fully comprehend the pain & terror of those most wicked days.

Part of my work is sharing these stories, as difficult as it often can be. As humbling as the image of a burning, elementary school child falling out of a second-story window can be, the ghosts of these places allow the people who’ve lost their lives to live on in ours.

The OLA fire was a springboard into reshaping the municipal fire codes of Chicago and around the globe. Our saving grace as humans; we learn from our mistakes.
