Hi! My name is Dr Wendy Wagner and I am OBGYN based in Hillsborough, NJ.
In this video, I explain what Group b Strep is, how it effects pregnancy, how it is tested for, and what is done to treat it.
Group B Strep is a type of infection/bacteria which can be found in a woman's rectum or vagina. This bacteria is nothing too serious, but it can be harmful to the baby if nothing is done to treat it. This is why we always test for it between 35 to 37 weeks.
