In the production of springs for commercial vehicles, the heat treatment is at the heart of the production processes. The precision with which the processes are carried out has enormous impact on the quality of the springs. This film shows how a parabolic spring, a leaf spring or a leaf beam is shaped from a piece of steel in an exciting process under great heat. The 100 % precision required in this process is documented and assured in an ambitious inspection process. At Schomäcker we carry out these extensive inspections in our in-house lab which we have opened exclusively for this video.
