In this video you will be introduced to the Morse potential as a way to model the vibrations of a diatomic molecule. You will use this potential to calculate the zero point energy of HCl and then to calculate its bond energy. This potential is a modification to the harmonic oscillator which makes use of a more physical potential.You will also be introduced to the dissociation energy.
