In this video I'm showing how you can assign a hardware MIDI controller (like the mod-wheel of a keyboard or in this case the fader of a digital mixing console) to plugin parameters in Cockos Reaper using the free ReaLearrn plugin by Helgoboss. This plugin also enables you to write automation for the assigned plugin parameter in real-time! For demonstration purposes, I'm iusing a self-coded stereo width VST plugin which is capable of altering the original stereo width of a stereo signal between 0 % (thus mono) and a width of 200 % (extreme width that should actually be avoided by all means because it is not mono-compatible and will cancel out the entire signal if listened back in mono).
You can download the free ReaLearn plugin from this website: [ Ссылка ]
ReaLearn can be loaded into whatever track you want (also into a track's input fx). It will still be effective for any plugin parameter used in the entire project. However, you may wanna load several instances of ReaLearn if you plan to use different MIDI controller devices in the same project because each ReaLearn instance is tied to one hardware MIDI controller device.
"SonicAxiom_LR stereo width" is one of the latest plugins I have coded for my own needs. I provide it for free as is. You can find the entire collection of my self-coded, free VST plugins here: [ Ссылка ]
Please consider a donation if you find my plugins useful. Any amount is greatly appreciated!!
Important note: My plugins will only work on Windows computers as they are simple .dll files. Simply place the .dll files into your common VST plugins folder and let Reaper re-scan the folder for newly added plugins.
