Another exploration of abandoned property today, and this time its the pub.

I went to explore my local area, looking at all the pubs which have shut down yet still stand. The grand buildings still with there signs and obvious markings showing what they once were are littered all over the place. I’m sure that where ever you live in the United Kingdom you are bound to be near an abandoned pub. I found so many and even got the chance to take a look inside one. I also talk about the history of the pub, and what the future of them looks like. I’d love to hear your memories about the pub. What it means to you and how it’s changed over the years.

Where Pints Went To Die

In Hell, Hull and Halifax
A nation bleeds the green mould
Of rotten ply windows,
Of closed down community;
Corporate neglect.

The gun shot wounds lay visible on the brick work
For everyone to see on their way to Tescos.
Another boarded up pub,
Another story half told.
But how can a pub survive,
When it can only bring a knife to a gun?

Just down the road, in town
The fat cats chuckle in the back officeof their new
Weatherspoons
They polish their arsenal,
And prepare for the slaughter
