Pakistan has claimed that India can't amend the Indus Waters Treaty unilaterally. Pakistan's climate minister, Sherry Rehman, told the country's senate that New Delhi can't unilaterally change the treaty until Islamabad also agrees to it. She also linked India's ultimatum to Pakistan over the IWT to next year's Lok Sabha elections. Rehman was responding to an attention notice made by the leader of the opposition. On January 25, this year, India for the first time sent a notice to Pakistan seeking review and modification of the Indus Waters Treaty. On April 6, Pakistan responded to India's letter by stating that it is committed to the treaty. Watch this video to know more.
