Hope you enjoyed Pop Culture Graveyard's breakdown on how Echo and the Bunnymen Saved British Rock! One of the best UK post punk bands of the '80s, Echo and the Bunnymen were inspired by the best of the '60s and '70s bands. The result sounded as if Television were fronted by a 12-year-old Jim Morrison.

Crocodiles: The album that started it all. Just when you think Side One cannot be topped, Side Two hits you right between the eyes. Don't say I didn't warn you:

Heaven Up Here brought in darker themes and a gloomy touch that would never leave the band's music--and thank goodness for it! All My Colours is still a top ten Bunnymen song for me:

Porcupine kicked off with the one-two punch of The Cutter and The Back of Love; if that doesn't grab you, this album isn't for you...and you might consider seeking medical help:

If you wanted to call Ocean Rain the band's best album, I would not argue with you! Even apart from The Killing Moon, it's got some of my all-time favorite Bunnymen songs, such as Nocturnal Me, Crystal Days, My Kingdom, Crown of--oh, hell, the whole bloody thing is brilliant:

This self-titled Bunnymen album was their last with drummer Pete de Freitas. If you don't think his loss was a massive one, you don't know this band very well. Although Pete was a part-time member of the band, he was as in-sync with the band as ever in the studio. This was the last album that I truly loved by the band. And to all my friends overseas, this is the album most Americans know best. Odd, but true:

Just because I prefer early-era Echo and the Bunnymen, didn't mean the band stopped making great albums! Sample some of Reverberation, and you'll see they were still capable of brilliant songwriting: I especially love Thick Skinned World, Gone Gone Gone and Senseless:

Here is my ALL TIME FAVORITE live concert of Echo and the Bunnymen (aside from the concert I attended, of course--they're an overpowering live band), featuring the band live at Royal Albert Hall. I remember taping this as a teen, and then having to repeatedly press pause on the VCR while my sister gave me a haircut in the same style as Ian. (I thought the hair would make me look like Ian. Sadly, it did not.)
