The ANC has made it clear it still intends to push ahead for South Africa to withdraw from the Rome Statute and the International Criminal Court. No work has been done on a Bill, introduced in Parliament in December 2017, which would have given South Africa the green light to stop being a signatory of the ICC. Justice Minister, Michael Masutha, says the decision to withdraw now rests with Parliament.
