Kodak Aerochrome is one of the rarest and is the most expensive film you can buy today. It was manufactured by Kodak between 1942 and 2009 — first for military and surveillance industries and then for the general public.
But professional applications found better digital counterparts in the 2000s and the public stopped caring about film that was difficult to shoot (Aerochrome has just 3 stops of dynamic range!)
I doubt Kodak will ever bring it back as it seems to be a hard-to-market, complex product. But that's not for the lack of trying from the community. Famously by @grainydaysss in many of his videos (they are all excellent).
I recently bought a few extra rolls from a very kind photographer who gave me a generous deal on this film. This is an unboxing video for the package and a few sample shots on Aerochrome I exposed earlier this year with Hasselblad XPan from the window of a small airplane near Vancouver, British Columbia.
