Kriya just makes you feel good, free, reborn. Its dynamic movement blended with breath work deep cleans. It's super weird looking, making many people uncomfortable. Basically it is socially unacceptable!
Kriya reinforces and revitalizes subtle currents of life energy (prana) in the spine and brain. You live your higher self.
Kriya is a branch of Raja Yoga and therefore unlike the hatha yoga lineage, the movements are quite different. It is energy yoga. Its aim is for spirituality, wisdom and beyond. This is the fast track to spirituality done by using breath work, tapping and dynamic movement.
Kriya was a closely guarded practice passed from guru to disciple, descended from Maha Avatar Babaji. Today this practice has been transformed to suit the restless over thinkers of our time with blessings to share with everyone.
During your practice, it is normal to feel like coughing, burping, vomiting, spitting, yawning, laughing, crying, vocalizing. Your body is wanting to release. Do not hold it in, let it all out.
If after or during Kriya practice you feel lightheaded or ungrounded lay on the ground on your belly with your forehead touching the earth, or come into the yoga posture called child pose with forehead on the ground and/or after practice eat something.
The effects of Kriya can last 24 hours. After a practice one may feel reborn or strong emotions are wanting to pass through and leave. Sleep may be sound or weird dreams, etc.
I'm Xiu Lei (pronounced C U Lay) born and raised in California. I am American born of Chinese decent. At the age of 49 in 2013 I moved to Australia and began my yoga travels. On the road now mostly in Europe and south east Asia with teaching yoga at resorts and yoga retreat centers paving my way. By far Kriya has been the most significant of all the yoga, movement, and meditation practices I've experienced.
