We live in a day of great challenge and great opportunity. It's amazing how those two things can go together. There will always be challenges in our journey, yet those challenges become tremendous possibilities to believe for God for breakthroughs. I'm reminded of the disciples on the Sea of Galilee when the great storm came up. They were concerned for their life. The boat was rocking, the waves were crashing over, and they were afraid. Jesus was just sleeping in the boat. When He woke they told Him of their concern and He reprimanded them in a sense and said "Why do you have such little faith?" Then in Matthew 8:26-28, "Then he rose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. And the men marveled, saying, “What sort of man is this, that even winds and sea obey him?” Think about that. The winds and the waves. He spoke calm and peace. The wind subsided. The waves calmed down. Everyone was safe. The men in the boat were stunned.
There are times when we get concerned in the journey we are in. Are we going to make it? What's going to happen? When we put our faith in God and realize that He is able to speak to that situation; He's able to calm the storm. He's able to turn the tide on the circumstances that we are in. Suddenly, when we come together in faith, we come together to worship Him, we recognize our need for Jesus. More than anything in this world, we need Jesus. We need faith in Jesus. To know that He is able is one thing. To believe that He will do it for me, is a whole other thing. Sunday we are going to focus on what Jesus means to us. Who He is. What He's like. How He loves you. He loves me. And he's involved in the details of our life and all the challenges we face. Let's come together and worship and focus our faith on who Jesus is. Be encouraged in the journey we are in. No matter the challenge, Jesus is greater than the challenge. We will be online and in the house at 10:30am.
Looking forward to seeing you this weekend. Let's see God do great and mighty things!
