Health policy makers are preparing reforms to strengthen the resilience of their health systems based on the weaknesses that COVID-19 has highlighted. Many of these countries’ reform agendas pre-COVID, however, remain unfinished.
Reviewing health system reform trends systematically can support informed policy-making and leverage international experience of distinct approaches. The trends identified from 31 high-income countries will be discussed with a focus on governance, organisation of healthcare, digital health and transparency.
