Halpatiokee Regional Park is located at 8303 SW Lost River Road in Stuart, Florida, and is the largest park in Martin County with 65 acres of active park land surrounded by approximately 500 acres of wetland preserve area.

The landscape varies from pine flatwoods, oak hammock, scrub and river land. The property includes approximately four miles of river frontage on the west side of the South Fork of the St. Lucie River.
These lands provide habitat for sustainable populations of hundreds of species of native flora and fauna, including at least 13 species that are designated by the State of Florida as endangered or threatened.
The park’s miles of hiking trails, biking trails, paddling trails and riverside primitive campsite provide high-quality nature-based recreational opportunities for outdoor enthusiasts.
The primitive campsite can be accessible through hiking about a 3/4 of a mile with all supplies. The campsite's amenities include a picnic bench and fire pit. There are no bathrooms, running water or electricity.

Athletic Fields at Halpatiokee Regional Park
Halpatiokee Regional Park also features soccer and football fields, tennis courts, pickleball courts, disc golf course, softball and baseball fields, an open air roller-hockey rink, as well as picnic pavilions.
You can bring your own kayak or canoe and explore the South Fork of the St. Lucie River.
Typical animals include longnose gar, shiners, several species of sunfish, cooters, alligators, and river otters. West Indian Manatees (Trichechus manatus) are frequently present in this portion of the river.
Halpatiokee is the Seminole Indian word meaning “Alligator Water.”
MOUNTAIN BIKING:
Use at your own risk. This is an unsupervised facility of the Public Works Department managed by the Ecosystem and Restoration Management division. Mountain biking is inherently dangerous and the risk of injury or death is significant.
No motorized vehicles; ONLY Class 1 Pedal Assist E-bikes allowed
Bicyclists must yield to pedestrians at all crossings and multi-use trails
Helmets are required and other safety equipment is encouraged
Plan ahead, have the right equipment and ride within your ability
Trails may include obstacles such as low branches, roots, sudden changes in grade, logs, bridges and structures
Trail conditions may unexpectedly change due to weather or other factors
Obey directional signage
Ride on open bike trails only and do not make new trails or alternate routes
Do not modify trail features or obstacles
Do your part to encourage safe trail use
Ride responsibly and encourage others to do the same
This is a trash free park - remember to "leave only footprints"
MOUNTAIN BIKE RIDERS UNDER 18:
Riders under the age of 18 must submit an Accident Waiver & Release of Liability Form online via the button below, or complete a paper form at the Public Works Department, located at 2401 SE Monterey Road in Stuart.
