Abuela wasn’t always so serious. In this process video of Encanto
we had to capture the feeling of young love and the giggles and silliness that come with it. To achieve that authenticity my wife Rebecca Perez and I shot this reference more times than I can count. And each time we giggled more and had more fun. It’s times like these I love that Rebecca and I work side by side for Disney Animation.
From a technical standpoint the frame range we had to work within was super short to keep the song flowing. It was a tough shot to do in that timeframe but it was a fun challenge.
