(10 May 1945) Field Marshal Montgomery met with General Admiral von Friedeburg, Rear-Admiral Wagner and General Kinzel on Luneburg Heath, where he told them that unconditional surrender was all that would be accepted. After a short discussion the Germans agreed and the surrender documents were signed.
