This is a short one from footage a colleague sent me this morning. I'm deep in the weeds editing a longer one which should be out soon.
The first 2/3 of this reel is a typical but depressing display of FLS and SIB that I've talked about before. The last bit, with the hip movement, erect tail and lip smacking is about social heirarchy, submissiveness, dominance and some anxiety for good measure.
People anthropomorphize these animals, which can be positive in building empathy, but very negative when it means imposing human morality onto them (such as with the hip thrusting movements that humans lose their minds about). I cover that in the longer vid I'm working on right now.
