See Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers aka Turbo from the movies Breakin' and Breakin' 2 feature in this rare footage from behind the scenes, on set in 1984. This rare footage shows how the rotating mechanical wheel was used to create the memorable ceiling dance sequence. You can hear the Dance Chroeographer Bill Goodson and the Director Sam Firstenberg giving instructions to Michael.
At 08:38 Naomi Rivera King who was a featured Miracles dancer and stunt worker on the movie can be seen inside the rotating wheel to walk out to the centre when her name is called. Naomi doubled for Sabrina Garcia aka Boogaloo Shrimps on screen girlfriend Lucia. She was strapped to the wall and spun upside down whilst Shrimp danced on the floor appearing to look like he is on the ceiling.
Thanks to Jim Doyle for the footage. Jim Doyle was credited as the mechanical special effects designer for this movie.
The music playing in the second part of the video has been confirmed by Michael Boogaloo Shrimp Chambers to be sung by Jerry Knight (Ollie & Jerry/Raydio) but was not used for the final scene we get to see in the film. The track title remains a mystery, maybe 'Upside Down' or even 'Dancing On The Ceiling' two years before Lionel Richies track in 1986 - but it is unavailable.
