In the super special edition of Frankly Speaking with Navika Kumar, uncompromising politician and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal reasons the COVID pact with NDA, shares stunning view on Congress' future, and reminds Centre of priorities, takes the hot seat and shares his view on Delhi riots.
"COVID positivity rate is getting better in Delhi. Beds for COVID patients are finally getting vacant in Delhi hospitals. A few weeks back 6,200 beds were occupied but today only 3,800 beds are occupied. COVID positivity rate is getting better in Delhi. The situation is improving slowly but Coronavirus is very unpredictable. As far as COVID is concerned, we should not be complacent and should be prepared if things get worse in the future, which is the principle we are working on. Weeks back, there 6,200 occupied beds in the hospitals but now the number has gone down to 3,800. When the lockdown restrictions were lifted in Delhi, there was a sudden spike in the number of COVID cases, that surge was faster than what we had imagined. Some people said that 'Kejriwal is trying to scare people'. I wasn't trying to scare people as I was giving COVID figures week-by-week. The surge in COVID cases after the lockdown was faster than what we had imagined. We were not testing enough for COVID, so we asked the Central Govt to help us. The Central Govt then helped us with the antigen test. The Corona App is very interesting", he said.
