Today’s healthcare environment is changing, and there is an increased need for professionals who know how to manage that environment to keep it clean, healthy and safe. Centennial College’s Healthcare Environmental Services Management program meets these demand and creates qualified environmental services managers who can protect workers, clients and patients from environmental hazards present in the healthcare setting. Students will learn environmentally-friendly “green” ways to develop, implement and monitor operating systems in the housekeeping, laundry, maintenance, and transportation areas and study emerging technologies that support disease control of bacteria and viruses. The program involves classroom lectures, hands-on practical lab experience, field trips and guest speaker presentations, as well as two field placements to grant you hands-on experience. Established partners include Leisureworld Senior Care Corporation, Shepherd Village, St. Michael’s Hospital, St. Joseph’s Health Centre, North York General, Ina Grafton-Gage Home (Toronto), Belmont House, Vermont Square and Region of Peel.
