During the capsule endoscopy procedure the patient may hear an alarm sound and the signal light on the recorder may start flashing.
If this happens, check that the belt is tight around the waist and that all the sensors are against the skin.
Make sure that belt connected securely into the recorder. If not, insert the connector making sure that the groove line up and that a click is heard.
Drink a glass of water and go for a walk, this will help the capsule move through the GI Tract and should pick up signal again.
Lastly, if the patient has been to the toilet after swallowing the capsule, it possible that the capsule has been passed and the recorder can be removed and returned to the hospital.
