I really love using magnetic snaps as closures for pouches and bags due to their quick and easy installation process. To attach a magnetic snap, simply use the washer that comes with it to mark the placement of the prongs holes. Use small sharp scissors or a seam ripper to cut the holes. You might want to apply a small piece of fusible interfacing under the snap to reinforce the fabric and one piece over it.
In this video, I'm installing the snap onto the flap of a petite case, using the male component, while the female counterpart will be installed to the case's body. Instead of fusing a piece of interfacing for reinforcement, I use a small piece of fabric (calico or linen) to make sure that the prongs can't be felt from the outside of the flap.
Some people like to push the prongs in on top of the snap, I prefer to push them out to the sides to reduce the bulk of the snap.
