Don Willett, a Baltimore based photographer (www.donwillett.com) makes a simple and safe fix to the Sony a6000, a6300, a6500 and a7II cameras to fix the hotshoe.

It's surprising to find that the hotshoe on the Sony cameras doesn't work with many flashes and radio remote triggers right out of the box.

This video shows what you need to do to repair the problem and not ruin the camera. You shouldn't have to disassemble anything to fix the issue.
