Kiwi skins are quite fuzzy but edible. They are filled with free radical busting antioxidants, three times more than the fruit itself. The skin also has lots of fibre.
Kiwis contain high levels of vitamin E in the flesh. But a study by Fiorentino identified a new form of vitamin E in kiwi skin called δ-tocomonoenol. This new version of vitamin E is a radical scavenging antioxidant.
Kiwis are rich in polyphenols which help fight inflammation in your body. 30% of these come from the skin.
You can scrub the skin to reduce the fuzziness or throw the whole fruit into a blender.
