This is a method use to treat phobias. Dr Deal says it was created by the developer of Thought Field Therapy (Dr Roger Callahan) but this is a variation (in my view, a lot better) of the technique. It is not the technique used by TFT.
A phobia is an irrational fear which is triggered by a specific, yet objectively harmless, object or situation. The fear response may be initiated by either the actual or anticipated presence of that object or situation in the sufferer's immediate environment. The consequent state of anxiety varies from mild to profound panic, but is always unreasonable or excessive.
Almost invariably, the sufferer will agree with an observer that the object of their phobia is harmless yet will insist they cannot control their response to it. this will usually lead to strict avoidance of the object or situation or the adoption of coping strategies to manage the anxiety and stress their phobia brings about.
Sometimes phobias will be described as a blanket description which embraces a range of different fears. Fear of flying may be triggered by a range of possible different situations. You'll need to target something specific about that. A question "What's the worst part about that for you?" is a useful probe. The question can be repeated until a response describing a fear is elicited.

Test:
1. Start by having the patient make a true statement and a false statement, testing an indicator muscle after each statement.
2. The patient should test strong for the true statement and weak for the false statement.
3. Have the patient make a false statement about their phobia (for example, if they are afraid of heights, this statement might be “I am comfortable with heights”).
4. If the indicator muscle tests weak, this shows that that statement is false and the patient does in fact have that phobia.
5. You must then find what meridian the phobia is locked up on. Check the stomach meridian first because it shows up most often.
6. Have the patient touch the alarm point for the stomach meridian (CV 12) while they make the same false statement about their phobia from before.
7. If the indicator muscle tests strong, the phobia is locked up on that meridian.
8. If the indicator muscle tests weak, the phobia is not locked up on that meridian.
9. Go through the alarm points for the other meridians, repeating this process until the patient tests strong for one.
Correction:
1. While the patient touches the alarm points for the meridian that cancelled out their phobia, tap repeatedly on the end point of that meridian. At the same time, have the patient repeat the statement about their phobia from before (for example, “I am comfortable with heights”).
2. Have the patient leg go of the alarm point. Test the indicator muscle while the patient makes the statement about their phobia.
3. If the indicator muscle tests strong, it means the statement is true and they no longer have that phobia.
Notice that Dr Deal only taps acupuncture points on the face. If the over energy (alarm point) meridian indicated does not have a face point (one of the yin meridians - eg Kidney, Lung, etc) use the 5 element chart (downloaded from the link above if you do not know it) and tap the coupled meridian's points on the face. So if the Heart alarm point showed, the client would hold this point and you would tap the Small Intestine Face Points (next to the tragus of the ears).
A description of these is in the Victimization Technique ...

This technique is similar to the phobia technique and worth watching. Possibly you could do the phobia technique on incidents to clear the emotional distress of feeling victimized at some point in your life.
