Review With Char Griller Smokin Pro Grill : I just did my 3rd of 4th cook with the DigiQ on my Large BGE. What a pleasure it is to smoke ribs without constantly jumping up and down to check the BGE temp. Once I set the DigiQ for the desired temp (240 degrees today for my ribs gave me a dome temp of about 260-270) it holds the temp rock solid. Every time I peek out the window I see 240 on the LED display. I haven't done it yet, but I feel confident I'd sleep soundly through a low temp an overnight cook of a pork butt. By the time I got my DigiQ I had had my BGE for 6 years and well understood the issues involved with a long cook. There had been times over the years when I had things stabilized and left the house for a few hours, only to find the Egg at 180 when I came home. Never again. For ribs I don't use the food probe. I use it out of curiosity for a butt and depend on it for a chicken. One of my cookbooks recommends you have experience and understand of the issues that can occur with a long cook ( blocked vent holes in the grate, for instance) and the necessity of having a cleaned out Egg before an 8 hour cook for proper air flow. If you do and you're tired of checking the dome temp every 1/2 hour or are hesitant to leave the house to have a beer with a friend then get a DigiQ and have that beer! [ Ссылка ] [Amazon]
