This is part 1 of our May 2022 bike packing trip in the Quilomene Wildlife Area in Wa. State. We call this area (combined with the Colockum Wildlife Area) "Washington's Outback". Part 1 cover's Day 1, Part 2 (coming soon) cover's day's 2 & 3. On Day one, we depart from the "trail head" just N. of the Wild Horse Energy Farm on top of "Beacon Ridge", and travel down the original Quilomene Creek route, Most of which is closed to motor vehicles (except for the 1st couple miles (from the top down to Hunt Creek) and the last 1/4 mile where we join up with Quilomene Ridge Rd. (also known as "The Army Rd."). On this trip, we basecamp just above Quilomene Bay, and on Day two take a "light" trip up & back on the old Brushy Creek Canyon trail (also closed to motor vehicles) a few miles. Day 3 we ride out on the Army Rd.(open to motor vehicles)- a 3000'+ climb back to the top. Part 2 is on the way. Enjoy! And thanks for watching! BTW, No- we are NOT riding e-bikes- these are regular bicycles that we have to pedal :) FYI, e-bikes are restricted on the non-motorized routes.
