This is probably my favourite Halo video to date! To be honest, I've been a GeForce2 hater for YEARS, but Halo as taught me that it's not so bad (I own a GeForce 2 GTS AGP 2x btw).
This was a scripted video created by Bungie using footage from the E3 2000 demo to advertise the specifications and advantages of the NVIDIA GeForce 2 (NV10). Halo 2000 was designed to take full advantage of the OpenGL API (which Halo did use at the time) using the NVIDIA GeForce 2's new register combiner technology. Register combiners work similar to vertex/pixel shaders, but not quite the same. It was technically the most advanced video card of 2000 (but not faster than 3Dfx Voodoo 5 6000 or Rampage). The graphics in Halo were far superior to that of any PC game in 2000. The only game that came close was the old PC builds of Azurik (which originally had lots of cool gfx features and high res textures that were dumbed down for the Xbox).
