In recognition of the 500th anniversary of the beginning of the Reformation, the Muilenburg-Koenig History of Religion workshop will consider Luther out of Germany.
Led by Christopher Ocker (Professor of Church History, San Francisco Theological Seminary) and Kirsi Stjerna (Professor of Lutheran History and Theology, Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary), this workshop will consist of panelists discussing perceptions of Luther and his influence in Latin America, the US, India, China, and Catholic-Protestant relations today, with presentations and responses by scholars from Berkeley, Princeton, Beijing, and Mexico City. It is part of a semester-long seminar of the Graduate Theological Union at Berkeley (GTU).
