Join AHDB Beef & Lamb and Alexander Corbishley, from the University of Edinburgh, for a webinar on responsible use of antibiotics on a range of different beef production systems.
The webinar will be approximately 35 minutes long, with time for questions at the end.
There is a major drive to reduce antibiotic use across all livestock sectors. The assumption has always been that use in the beef sector is generally low. However, there is much variation in the level of use across the sector, with significant use in some production systems.
This webinar will discuss the major drivers for use in dairy-beef calf rearing, suckler beef and growing/finishing cattle systems.
The webinar will cover:
•Antibiotic use in farm animals and the risks to human health
•The key drivers of antibiotic use in a variety of beef systems
•Key actions driving responsible use of antibiotics
•Where the easy wins are in terms of taking immediate action
