Kristalina Georgieva is the Managing Director of the IMF since October 1, 2019.She was CEO of the World Bank from January 2017 to September 2019, during which time she also served as Interim President for three months. Previously, Ms. Georgieva served as European Commission Vice President for Budget and Human Resources and as Commissioner for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response. From 1993 to 2010, she held a number of senior positions at the World Bank, including as Vice President and Corporate Secretary in 2008, and as Director for Sustainable Development, Director for the Russian Federation (based in Moscow), Director for Environment, and Director for Environment and Social Development for the East Asia and Pacific Region. Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, she holds a Ph.D. in Economic Science and a M.A. in Political Economy and Sociology from the University of National and World Economy, Sofia, where she was an Associate Professor between 1977 and 1993. She also was visiting fellow at the London School of Economics and at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Richard Ditizio is the CEO of the Milken Institute, where he is responsible for all centers and departments across the organization's global footprint. Under his leadership, the Institute expanded its staff and programmatic work to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. He joined the Institute after a 25-year career in banking, most recently serving as CEO of Citi Private Bank. Prior to that, Ditizio ran the North American UHNW practice for the bank, leading 24 offices across the United States and Canada. In these roles, he counseled clients on issues such as business succession, philanthropy, and the challenges of raising children amid great affluence. His work on UHNW families, DEI, corporate leadership, and philanthropy has been widely profiled in media outlets including the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Lifestyles, CNBC, and Reuters; and he speaks around the world on these topics. A recipient of the NSFRE Corporate Executive Award, Ditizio has been involved with numerous nonprofit boards and charitable organizations throughout his career.
Zanny Minton Beddoes is the Editor-in-Chief of The Economist. She is a renowned global economics expert, sought-after for her authoritative perspectives on the world economy. She previously worked at the IMF, and as an adviser to the Minister of Finance in Poland.
