A brief video detailing the entire flattening process of a Naniwa Chosera #400 splash and go whetstone. I had just purchased an Atoma #140 diamond plate. A high quality, very course, 140 grit Japanese diamond plate, and this is my 1st time using it and you can kinda tell based on how well i physically handle the plate :-) It does make short work of leveling a whetstone , even a fairly dense / hard one like a Chosera model. It leaves a wonderful surface with plenty of swarf from the stone , making the sharpening process directly after flattening even faster and in some ways more rewarding. To be fair i prob spent a bit longer flattening than i needed to , ( 1st time flattening with any diamond plate) . Very impressed with the plate and how quickly it cuts , leaving a nice surface behind.
More sharpening and knife related videos will be released on the regular.
