The Eastern Cape government and disaster management teams of the two provincial metros, Nelson Mandela Bay and Buffalo City, are still counting the cost of the devastating floods that hit the province.
Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane says residents must accept that they live in a disaster-prone province and the warnings posted by the weather service must be taken seriously.
Relief efforts are now focussed on restorning the lives of the affected people.
