EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE of the night four legends celebrated the 50th anniversary of Scotland's greatest ever win over the auld enemy. Hosted by the Denis Law Legacy Trust at Aberdeen's Marcliffe Hotel & Spa, legendary manager Bobby Brown was reunited with three of his heroes who slayed England in their own back yard.
With England crowned 1966 World Cup winners at Wembley the previous summer, it was one of the greatest ever upsets. Incredibly, Bobby Brown masterminded this famous victory in his first match in charge of the Scotland team. And he did it by defying experts and the pundits who questioned his brave decision to hand debuts to ageing goalkeeper Ronnie Simpson and young midfielder Jim McCalliog. Both performed heroically in an outstanding display by every single Scotsman.
In this unique reunion, Brown and McCalliog are joined by Celtic's Lisbon Lion, Bobby Lennox and Scotland's greatest ever player Denis Law. It was a memorable night in Aberdeen on the eve of 'The King' being given the Freedom of the City.
Aberdeen-born journalist and broadcaster Graham Hunter is the man asking the questions. And those lucky enough to be there will know what a unique celebration it was. Now for the first time, we are sharing this full experience with you in memory of Bobby Brown who sadly passed away earlier this year at the age of 96.
It was the night Scotland re-lived being crowned unofficial World Champions.
