Earthquakes induced by wastewater disposal have much larger magnitude than those induced by hydraulic fracture stimulation. Differentiating between the origins of these two types of seismicity is critical to accurate representation of potential impacts of unconventional development activities. Oklahoma and Youngstown Ohio induced seismicity are discussed along with stress interrelationships.
