How can the safety and comfort of motorcycle riding be improved? Bosch software engineer Yuki Oshida knows the answer: By using advanced rider assistance systems (ARAS). 🏍️
In the latest episode of our "From KNOW-HOW to WOW" podcast, he and Daniel Vetter, an application engineer for motorcycle safety systems at Bosch, talk about these radar-based assistance systems and explains how some of the functions were transferred from passenger cars to motorcycles. One example: Adaptive cruise control, which adapts the motorcycle's speed to ensure that there is a sufficient gap to the vehicle in front.
Additionally, podcast host and motorcycle enthusiast Shuko was able to test the technology in real life on an exclusive ARAS test ride with Daniel. She is convinced: Electronic assistants can help to mitigate some of the inherent risks of motorcycling without compromising fun.
