There’s an increasing amount of fake news spreading about coronavirus on the internet. LBC has busted some of the most common fake news on social media.
A photo shows Italy needed to use 80 trucks to transport those who had died of coronavirus - Fake News - Italy have been using the military to transport those who have died but that photo was taken in Paris.
Coronavirus can be cured with a combination of Lopinavir, Retonovir, Oseltamivir and Chlorphenamine - Fake News - India’s Health ministry has recommended some of the drugs in treating coronavirus but it’s not clear how effective it is.
Italy has only been hit hard because they have the oldest population in Europe - Other cultural factors will have contributed to the spread in Italy including family members of different generations living close together.
Many viral posts about the UK’s lockdown rules are false. In the UK you can only leave the house for one of four reasons: Shopping for basic necessities, one form of exercise a day, any medical need or to provide care for someone, travelling to and from work if you “absolutely cannot” work from home.
