A high-fat diet after 16 weeks induced hypertension in normal rats, according to researchers from Henry Ford Health and Wayne State University in Detroit. Researchers also found that the glomerular pressure was higher in the rats fed a high-fat diet. In addition, glomerulosclerosis was higher after 16 weeks of a high-fat diet.
