Inside The $75 Million Gulfstream G700 Private Jet

Intro
The Gulfstream G700 was announced in October 2019 at the NBAA Convention and Exhibition in Las Vegas. Completing its first flight on February 14th, 2020, the G700 tops every other Gulfstream jet in terms of cabin space, innovation, and flexibility of cabin design. Today we will be going inside the Gulfstream G700 and talk about everything you need to know about this enormous jet.

Interior
Like the cabins in the previous series, the one in the Gulfstream G700 provides a sanctuary of understated elegance. The new cabin is 10 feet longer, though, for a total length of nearly 57 feet, a mere three feet shorter than a bowling lane. According to Gulfstream, the G700 features the tallest, widest and longest cabin in the industry. The aim of the G700 is to create the most comfortable environment possible in the sky so that you can sleep, work or relax as efficiently as possible. The G700 features true circadian lighting to simulate the sunlight of your next time zone to help reduce the effects of jet lag.
Additionally, the G700 has a maximum cabin altitude of just 4,850 feet, one of the lowest cabin altitudes to be found on a private jet, helping you sleep better and reduce the effects of jet lag. On top of that, 100% fresh air is replenished throughout the plane. Add in the extremely quiet cabin and you will have no trouble working, sleeping or just relaxing.
Gulfstream have also fitted the G700 with twenty of the largest windows in business aviation, flooding the interior with natural light to make the already large cabin feel even more spacious. The cabin of the Gulfstream G700 is designed to allow passengers to intuitively interact with their environment, in fact the G700 features Jet Connex Ka-band Wi-Fi so that you can stay connect when you are in the air for hours at a time. Additionally the Gulfstream-designed CabinView lets passengers track flight progress, displays points of interest and provides passenger briefings.
The G700 also features an all new seat design: these seats are handcrafted for each aircraft and can be converted to ergonomic beds. This combination of handcrafted seats and divans offers the utmost in passenger comfort. The G700 has a maximum capacity of 19 passengers in a seating configuration and space for 13 passengers in a sleeping configuration. The cabin can be configured with up to five living spaces so you will always be able to get some privacy from your fellow passengers.

Cockpit
At the front the G700 features the Gulfstream Symmetry Flight Deck, similar to other modern Gulfstream aircraft. The Symmetry Flight Deck features the active control sidesticks for increased safety. Additionally, intuitive touch-screen avionics and Phase-of-Flight intelligence help to reduce pilot workload and aircraft start-up time. The G700 can also be fitted with Gulfstream’s Enhanced Flight Vision System, a nose-mounted infrared camera and dual head-up displays which allow pilots to see more than the human eye can and land more easily. This allows the aircraft to land in poorer weather in a safer manner and allows the aircraft to reach more airports.
The Predictive Landing Performance System is an award-winning safety feature that can be fitted to the G700 to help pilots ensure they will not overrun the runway. All of this allows you to relax in the back of the airplane knowing that this is one of the safest aircraft on the market with the latest technological systems.

Performance
Powered by twin Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines that are mounted on the rear of the fuselage, the 36,500 lbf of thrust engines are able to push the aircraft to a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. At the more economical cruise speed of Mach 0.85 the G700 is able to fly up to 7,500 nautical miles or 14 kilometers non-stop, meaning that departing from London the G700 can just about reach every continent without needing to refuel.

With a maximum cruising altitude of 51,000 feet or 15.5 kilometers, the Gulfstream is able to provide a smooth ride above bad weather and general airline traffic. Impressively Gulfstream have been able to develop the G700 with a take-off distance of just 6,250 feet or 1900 meters and a reported landing distance of just 2,500 feet or 762 meters

Charter Cost
Currently, the G700 is very difficult to charter. Looking at similar aircraft, the hourly cost of a G700 charter should be in the region of $13,000.

Purchase Cost
While the G700 is still very difficult to charter, it is available to purchase. The purchase price of a Gulfstream G700 is $75 million before options – and there are many options that you can select. Of course, a pre-owned one is currently out of the question and is still a few years away.
