CPIM leader and former president of the JNU Students Union Kanhaiya Kumar and Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani are likely to join the Congress. According to Congress sources, Kanhaiya is in constant touch with the Congress and has met Rahul Gandhi. Gujarat MLA Jignesh Mevani is also in touch with the Congress high command.
