For anybody who bothers to read this, I have schizophrenia. It is the most stigmatized mental illness and many people are afraid of it. I take meds and go to therapy to manage my illness just like some people take high blood pressure medicine. It's a problem with the body that can be treated just like any other illness. Please educate yourself.
Edit on May 29, 2024: I was misdiagnosed years ago. I've since been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. It's been a constant struggle since 2016 when I was hospitalized for a month and committed. I was a freshman in college at the time. Getting stable since then has been a battle, but I've managed to stay out of the hospital since my first and only time in 2016. I take my meds regularly and still go to therapy and see my psychiatrist. I'm on the road to recovery but will always have to live with this disorder.
