Bieber: "I want to say how honored I am to be here at the Country Music Awards with Rascal Flatts — how amazing are Rascal Flatts everybody?"
Justin Bieber proved that he has fans in all genres of music at last night's CMT Music Awards in Nashville. Justin kept it casual and looked a bit more hip-hop than country in his backwards baseball cap and new earrings as he accepted the award for "Collaborative Video of the Year" with Rascal Flatts on "That Should Be Me." Justin thanked the group in his speech, but Rascall Flatts was equally excited to work with the pop star.
Rascal Flatts: "Justin, thank you for letting us be a part of the haircut that shocked the world."
They're of course referring to the music video for "That Should Be Me" where Justin showed off his new shorter hairdo for the first time in a video.
Justin and girlfriend Selena Gomez were spotted hanging out just days ago at the NBA Finals, but he chose to hit the CMT red carpet solo this time, along with Nicole Kidman and husband Keith Urban, American Idol winners Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina, and Shania Twain.
Taylor Swift was one of the night's big winners, as she received Video of the Year for her song "Mine." Taylor is currently on tour so she wasn't able to accept the award in person, though she still appeared in a fun video segment with Shania where the women spoofed Thelma and Louise with a guest cameo from Glee's Chord Overstreet playing Brad Pitt's famous role.
Chord: "Sure is hot out here."
Shania: "Sure is."
Chord: "The only thing that would be hotter is taking a ride with a couple of cougars like you."
Chord: "What did I say?"
Later in the show, Shania received a little more attention than she bargained for when she slipped on her way to the stage.
But not to worry — she was fine. Shania quickly laughed off the incident and addressed it by tweeting a video for fans.
"I never want to see those shoes again. Or maybe I should keep them as a souvenir. I don't know I'll think about that one, anyway."
