Hey guys, welcome back to KnifeHog.com! Addison here and today I’ll be reviewing the Spyderco Dragonfly 2.
The Dragonfly has an overall length of 5 ½”, a closed length of 3.3” and weighs 1.2 ounces. The blade is constructed of ZDP-189 steel and features a leaf shape and a plain, flat grind. The handle is composed of a black, Fiberglass Reinforced Nylon material and features subtle checkering. A back lock and a reversible, tension wire pocket clip have also been fitted on this knife.
Overall, the Dragonfly 2 is an excellent tactical EDC. With its compact size, tough as nails blade steel, textured handle and sturdy lock, what’s not to love about this lightweight EDC. ZDP-189 is a great steel type for this knife because it is extremely tough and is able to hold an edge very well. This sturdy blade steel combined with the razor sharp flat edge allows you to cut through materials like thick rubber, plastic and cloth. The lower spine of the blade also features minor jimping so you could choke up on the blade when you need to make precision cuts. Spyderco has also included their patented Spyderhole in the blade to provide you with a smooth, ambidextrous open option. The FRN handle material fitted on this knife is ideal for your hand because it fills it quite well and perfectly compliments the sturdy structure of the blade and back lock. Honestly, I can use this knife in just about environment and, whether my hands are cold, dry or wet, I could keep a firm and durable grip on the handle. All in all the Dragonfly 2 is an excellent knife and I highly recommend it for those of you looking for a tough, yet compact EDC. With this being said, I give the Dragonfly 2 a perfect score of 5 out of 5 stars.
